Update | 12.03.2016

Hi Guys!

Little update! Yet again I have been slacking on this blog! My bad. So far I have made like 4 posts on this blog? Not doing very well. I am currently back home. However, as soon as I am back to uni halls I will be able to make a little ootd post for you! Is that something you are interested in? Let me know below what you would like to see on this blog.

I am also going on holiday in 8 days (super excited), so I will try to get some photos done - experiences, food and outfits? Hopefully I can get my boyfriend to do some outfit shots for me!

I promise I will try to be better at posting here!

Thank you for reading!

Skin Care - Night Time Routine

So before starting off this post, I thought it was only appropriate to add in an updated photo of me and my skin. This is just so that you guys can have a visual link between the routine and the outcome. So just before I briefly talk about my skin I would like to apologise for this weird hand/ arm placement. I was going for the whole look of 'my hands are modelling my face', trust me there was a lot more interesting ones on my camera.

Ok, so my skin... My main focus of face products for me is blackheads. They are just about visible on the photo above, around my nose area. It's not pretty, and I get grossed out when talking about blackheads in general. Apart from that, it seems that I have been blessed with a skin which does not have major break outs. I just tend to get little bumpy spots around the top of my forehead and chin. However, once a while I do get those random, bad spots that seem to (in my mind) take up about 85% of my face.

Skin care routines are definitely videos and blog posts I enjoy. Obviously everyone will have their own routine that works for them but it always gives me inspiration of what products are out there and which ones I should try out for myself.

Here is my own skin care routine. This is what I do at the end of the day, mostly after I have had and shower and have nothing else planned but my bed. However, let me just put it out there I am not perfect. Therefore, sometimes not all steps are done within this routine due to me getting a little lazy!

Left - Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive 3 IN 1 Micellar Cleansing Water
Right - Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

On a daily basis I always start with one of my Micellar Cleansing Waters, even if it is one of my lazy days. This is because it is such an easy, and good way to quickly clean your skin. When applied with a cotton pad onto the skin it acts like a magnet, lifting away all the dirt. This is why I prefer it so much over make up wipes, there is no need for harsh rubbing.

The Nivea Micellar Water I use after days/ nights where I have been wearing make up. To me it just seems to take it off just that little bit more easily. Whereas when my face has been make up free I tend to reach for the Garnier one.

Clean & Clear blackhead clearing daily scrub

After removing all the dirt with the Micellar water I go in with a daily scrub. I have used many different ones but I always go back to this one. I love the tiny beads within the product, which even though they are not harsh they definiely make my face feel soft and clean afterwards. I apply the product onto my finger tips, not too much a little goes a long way, and exfoliate using a circular motion. With this product I tend to focus around my T-zone area.

Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive Cleansing Milk

After washing the scrub with water, in circular motions, I massage the skin with the cleasing milk. What I like about this step is once taken off I can tell from the cotton pad how well I've cleaned my face. Cleansing milk can be used as a make up remover by its self, unlike in my routine. It will remove oil and dirt from your poers while leaving your skin feeling very nourlished.

Simple Kind To Skin Soothing Facial Toner

I always use the toner straight after the cleansing milk as this is actually what I use to remove the product. However, you can also remove it with just a cotton wool or water. After all the cleansing I have done to my skin it is important that I do not skip thi step as it helps my skin to restore its pH balance.

Clean & Clear blackhead cleanser

This is a cleanser that I use in a few different ways, depending on my skins needs. If I only have a few bad spots I will use a cotton bud to apply the product onto the spots. Whereas sometimes when my blackheads are being really bad I will use a cotton pad and apply the cleanser to my nose. For me this product seems to be doing a really good jobs on the spots. I tend to prefer it over the Clean and Clear Advantage Spot Treatment gel, which I've recently purchased.

Left - Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive Night Cream
Right - NUXE Masque Creme raiche De BeautĂ©

Once all the cleansing is done I like to apply something that I will moisturise my skin. Yet again I have two products as it depends on what I am needing that night. Therefore, for me the Nivea is a very rich moisturiser, when left over night I can still feel the product in the morning. For me, in order to get the most out of it I apply it when I know I don't need to put make up on in the morning. Whereas for other times, if I need a little less I go for the NUXE as it is a lot more lighter.
Nivea Hydro Care Lip Protection

For my last step I show my lips a little attention. This product is always on my bedside table. After finishing my skin care, I hop into bed and apply this on my lips. When it comes to lip balm I have always used Nivea products, since I can remember. I have also picked this type of packaging, 'stick', over pot of balms. This is because the application is so hassle-free!

So that is the end of my skin care routine. I hope it was interesting to read. For the comment section I would be happy to hear any new recommendations? I am always on a look out to try something new!

Update | 10.07.2015

Hello everyone!

So it has been over a year since I have made a post on here, which is VERY bad! I understand that at this moment in time this blog does not have any regular readers therefore I have not disappointed anyone but myself. However, I would still like to apologise to people who have randomly bumped into Photographs and Ink but did not have much content to read through.

Anyway! The reason why I started this blog was because I have just finished my A-levels and did not have much to do in summer apart from my part time work. Well, yet again I am in the similar situation. This time however, I have just finished my first year of uni! So I have ended up going down the ‘oh so slightly boring’ path of Accounting and Finance. But I have truly enjoyed my first year, and the material was so far from just being numbers over and over again!

So now that I am home for summer [without a job since I quit before starting uni] I have little to do, so I am back on here! I took some photos a few days ago for my next post on here, night skin care routine, so will hopefully have that up soon! If anyone is reading this, I would be insanely happy if you could comment with some post suggestions!

Schwarzkopf got2b Rise 'n Shine Souffle - Review

Lips - Revlon Balm Stain in Rendezvous
Necklace - Topshop

After receiving the got2b Souffle in my GlossyBox I was quite eager to try it out! This product is part of their Rise 'n Shine range which also includes a Hairspray and a Whipped Mousse. All of the products claim to give volume and shine.

When first applying the product it may feel a little strange as the formula is a little sticky even though in the container it looks very light and airy. The directions they give you on the website, because the packaging seems to be missing that, is to rub the product between your palms and work through the lengths of the hair. The product applies really nicely but when working it in I would advise to really do it well as otherwise some little pink bits of the product will be left behind, which looks a little odd in the hair!

The product definitely gives you that volume however, if I am honest this product did not add any shine to my hair! In the photos above the only thing I have done with my hair was wash it in the morning, quickly blow dry it and added the Rise 'n Shine Souffle, nothing else.

On the whole, I am pretty happy with this product. It smells super nice and gives me volume. The only disappointing part is the shine but it is not like you are paying £££s for it therefore we cannot expect too much! I think I would like to continue using it a do an update when it is all gone, so maybe I will have a go at an "Empties" post in the future?

GlossyBox UK - Unboxing - June 2014

So here is my first post for this blog. I thought I would start off with something simple, an unboxing. This is the GlossyBox for the month of June. It is now the 30th therefore I apologise for this being up so late. Here I am already apologising in my first post, this is going to go well! Anyway, for the next, possible, unboxing posts I will try and do them A LOT sooner!

100ml - £3 Currently on sale in Boots for £2!

This is product caught my eye as soon as I opened the box. This is a hair product by Schwarzkopf got2b. It is from the Rise 'n Shine range and it's called Soufflé. The product itself looks great! It has this pretty pink colour and a fun light and airy formula. Another plus is that it smells great! This product claims to give you texture volume and silky shine. There is little information on the packaging as to how to use it and unfortunately I have not received an information card with my box so all the information and prices I looked up myself. So on their website it says to "rub between your palms, work through the lengths of dry hair...". What I love about this is that it is to use on dry hair as I tend to wash my hair the night before and therefore applying styling products to it is not always the best solution! I will give this a go and hopefully write a little review on here for it!

Full size - £17.95 at

Up next was this beautiful product by So Susan! I am just in love with the packaging design, and I am always a sucker when it comes to stuff like that! They have called it the Universal Blush as it is meant to work "with your skin's natural chemistry to create a universal healthy flush that is flattering on all skintones." After reading about the product on their website I found out it is a little more than just a typical blush? It is made with Buriti Fruit Oil which repairs epidermis. This means, if I have done my research right, that it helps to protect your skin from UV light as well as improve skin elasticity. This brand is also 100% against animal cruelty, which is always a positive! The shade itself is stunning, a slightly muted pink with, what seems to be, a golden sheen. Therefore it is not too overwhelming! I am excited to try it out!

Full set - £32

This was the next product in my box. A set by Roger & Gallet. This included a sample of their shower cream, body lotion and Fresh fragrant water. On the packaging it says that the shower cream is for sensitive skin whereas the lotion is for dry and sensitive skin. I am yet to try the sample out so if anyone wants a review let me know in the comment section and I will try my best! However, I was able to spritz a little of the fragrant water and it smells so beautiful and fresh! On their website its says that the scent is fruit floral and fig inspired, which I can definitely tell!

Full size - £13.50

Most of the nail polishes I own are by BarryM as the formula really works for me and they are super inexpensive! Therefore I would like to see how this works and compare it to my BarryM Basecoat, Topcoat and Nail Hardener as this claims to do the same but for a lot higher price!

Lastly in my box was a Flat Stiff Brush by TeezTrend cosmetics, retailing at €19. There is no picture for this product as somehow I have lost it! Therefore I am really sorry but I am sure it can be found online! The design of the handle is super funky, similar to the outer packaging which you can see in the first photo. The brush can be used to apply cream and powder eyeshadow. I do like the brush however I feel like the bristles are not as soft as they could be, but the weight of the brush is really good and it sits perfectly in your hand!

Overall I am pretty happy with my box! I will be trying every product out and possibly putting up some reviews on here so comment if you would like to see any of the products reviewed! This was my first ever post on here so I hope it was not too bad but I welcome any feedback and will be happy to make improvements!
